Canines with a Cause grid-cut |
This puzzle was donated to a charity organization, Canines with a Cause, in Ottawa, Canada:
Canines with a Cause is dedicated to train Service Dogs for people in our community with disabilities. These dogs are trained to pick up items accidentally dropped like coins, keys, wallets, etc.; bring the phone on command; assist in getting undressed, retrieve items pointed with laser pointer, turn light switch on/off, push automatic door access buttons, assist with laundry work etc. thus providing a great deal of independence.
They wanted to use this puzzle as the focus of a graduating team. The idea is to use the puzzle symbolically, with the various contributors each being a "key piece":
Those who have been a “key piece" in this successful story would find a piece of a puzzle inside an envelope. Then during the “Thank You”/appreciation part of the ceremony we would call them one by one and make the puzzle complete.
See their website if you're interested in more information on what they do or how you can contribute to their cause.
